Rail is re-emerging as an attractive freight option - and The Malcolm Group's pioneering express service is leading the way.

The service was launched in 2001, in partnership with Direct Rail Services of Carlisle and now provides regular, fast daily and overnight transit between our following depots:

• Grangemouth - Linwood
• Grangemouth - Aberdeen
• Grangemouth - Crick (DIRFT)
• Crick (DIRFT) - Mossend

Our rail terminals provide strategic access to the nationwide freight network and efficient interchanges with road transport links.

Availability of a rail option makes for a seamless freight transport service that appeals to many new and existing customers.

Customers benefit in several ways:

• flexibility - the open-access service will carry any load from a single pallet upwards.
• extra capacity - combining volume and weight delivers cost efficiencies and balancing rail and road movements can overcome the mounting problems of road congestion and the working time directive.
